Securing against fraud in e-commerce

Aproov Decision intervenes in the fight against e-commerce fraud. Our service analyzes transactions on behalf of partner e-commerce sites. Our goal is to help e-merchants contain the risk of bank card fraud and identity theft.

Why do we carry out checks?

Fraud techniques involve theft of identity and / or bank card numbers of ordinary consumers. Aproov Decision is mandated by partner e-commerce sites to protect them and their customers from fraud and its consequences.

Our role is therefore to carry out a certain number of verifications on the orders they transmit to make sure that the person placing the order is not using stolen identity or bank card details.

I already have ordered on several e-commerce sites without a problem. Why am I being controlled by Aproov Decision today?

Fraudsters sometimes impersonate people who shop online regularly. To avoid this, Aproov Decision constantly adapts its control procedures and criteria in order to protect e-merchants and yourself. This is why an element of your order can trigger a request for verification even if it was not the case with your previous orders.

My payment has been accepted. Why do I have to respond to Aproov Decision checks?

The authorization provided by the bank does not guarantee that the user of a bank card is indeed its holder. If you are not yet aware that the details on your bank card have been compromised then no one will have notified the payment system control services and you will be the victim of fraud. The role of Aproov Decision is therefore to verify that you were the one that passed the order.

Does Aproov Decision have access to my bank details?

Aproov Decision does not have access to clear card data. Only the BIN * can be transmitted by the merchant site to Aproov Decision.
* 4 or 6 first public digits to identify the name of the bank that issued the bank card.

Can you block the transaction?

Aproov Decision cannot under any circumstances cancel an order or suspend a possible debit. Only the e-merchant from whom you made your purchase can do so. For any order cancellation, please contact the e-merchant’s customer service.

Can Aproov Decision cancel my order if it poses a risk?

No, Aproov Decision cannot under any circumstances cancel an order. Only the e-merchant can make the decision to cancel an order that potentially presents a risk of fraud. In no case may he rely on the sole opinion of Aproov Decision to refuse a transaction, if no additional verification has been carried out. For any order cancellation, please contact the e-merchant’s customer service.

Can I request to no longer appear in the Oneytrust S.A.S database?

In accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 relating to data processing, files and freedoms, you have the right to access, rectify and delete personal data concerning you.
